more about the studio

dirty lizard studio is a place and ongoing project started by two south floridian ceramicists, liza quinn furr and nick abrami in summer 2023. after teaching in a lot of different places over the past decade or so, we decided to bring our skills together and build a place to rest, to learn, and to create; a third space, in between consumption and production.

we are open to beginners and experienced makers alike ❤️ and love to share what we’ve learned with fellow creatives. ask as many questions as you’d like.

now, about our the location…

our studio is in Little Ranches, Hollywood, FL, on Taíno, Miccosukee, and Seminole land.

we’re located within a half-acre food forest on a plot of farmland that supplied 1920s, 30s, and 40s-era Hollywood with fresh avocados and citrus —

depending on the season, we have starfruit, avocados, japoticaba, pineapples, so many tomatoes, a perennial herb garden — and we’re pretty good at sharing the bounty, too, if you’d like something to munch on. all we ask is that you come prepared to meet mother nature, in all her glory.

anywho, this place is mostly about clay, nice people, and handmade pots to hold good food — other things may crop up soon, we can’t just do one thing, but for now, we’ll be here in the studio (wheel)throwing our lives our lives away…
